Role of Bala Vihar Parents
Bala vihar classes are run by parent volunteers like you. If you would like to volunteer for teaching, activities, story telling, special event/project planning, let us know. Most importantly, please stay involved with your child’s progress. Practice singing the shlokas at home. Also the child can listen to the audio tape. Talk to the children about the stories and topics discussed in class. It is important that children complete their homework/assignments and come prepared for the classes. All children must bring their Balvihar folder, assigned books & a homework notepad. It’s a good idea to use a bag to carry their class material. Please make sure you are on time and attend Balvihar regularly. Do inform us if you are going on a long vacation and will not be able to attend couple of weeks.
Feedback and Suggestions
The Bala vihar program is an evolving program. Therefore, parents are encouraged to provide suggestions for enhancing the quality of the program. Ultimately, it is the children who will benefit and it is important that all parents take this feedback responsibility seriously and help evolve the program to be the best!
Important: Parental Requirements
The Chinmaya Mission center is a committment that the family makes and is not just a class for their kids. The saying "A family that prays together, stays together" is a central part of the Chinmaya Mission philosophy. If one parent is not a volunteer or teacher, then at least one parent needs to attend one of the various parent groups, while their child is in the Bala Vihar session.
